The Boat Building Center will hold a workshop to construct a Montana Pram beginning January 16th and will run every Saturday for four weeks through February 6, 2015. Workshop time is 9 am to 1 pm. The nine foot pram was designed in 1991 and is an excellent project for beginners to learn boat building skills. The pram is light weight and compact and is especially desirable for fishing and recreational uses. It can be carried on the deck of a sailboat or in the back of a pickup. The pram assembles quickly and without complicated procedures, making it an ideal first woodworking project. Registration forms are available from the Boat Building Center at 100 Newmark Ave, Coos Bay, OR 541-808-2211 or contact Tom Leahy at tleahy8@gmail.com. A non-refundable $50 is required to register. The fee is $200 for the class. Come join us.
The CBBBC is located just below the Hollering Place Overlook and north of the boat ramp in the Empire district of Coos Bay, Oregon.Turn on Newmark up the hill from Hwy 101. Go until you have to turn left or drive straight into the bay. The big red building will stop you.The CBBBC was funded by the City of Coos Bay’s Urban Renewal Agency; property owner Doug Devine; Charter members and members of the CBBBC; and many private donations from organizations, agencies and individuals.
